Article I: About Us top
·
We are a progression focused raiding guild that
is made up of friendly, family oriented people who understand that real
life is a priority but strive to give 110% to the team while raiding.
·
We value friendships and having fun above
all else.
·
We are a guild tailored to parents of young
children in both our guild activity times and atmosphere.
·
We understand the need to go AFK from time
to time because of family duties and don't expect members to make every
single event because real life and family comes before Perseid.
Article II: Code of Conduct top
Perseid asks all members to
respect the views of other members when using guild chat, voice chat client
and website forums. We ask that all
members refrain from using derogatory terms and phrases in these modes of
communication. We are not a
"G" rated guild but at the same time we want every member to feel
comfortable while in-game and on the website.
Be warned if somebody takes offense they will let you
know.
Article III: Recruiting top
Perseid does not do mass
recruiting. We do look for
applicants on the Blizzard Forums and via other Guild members. Any member may refer applicants to apply
on the guild website. All
applications are evaluated based on criteria set forth by the Council. The Council’s decision for application
acceptance or denial is final.
While we understand our guild will grow at a slower
pace, we want to ensure that our members will be the right fit for our
guild culture.
Section A. Family and Friends Clause (FnF):
Perseid is a family oriented
Guild, and as such full members with FnF who wish
to join is encouraged to apply. We
will work to include FnF from real life in the
guild. Upon joining FnF must understand and accept that raid positions
within the guild will be filled by members with active raiding status
first.
FnF’s offered Guild Membership
are welcome to sign up for raids, but will not be placed on raid rotation,
unless they have been placed on the active raiders list by Raid Leaders, or
Officers. Earning active raiding
status is determined by the Council in consultation with the Raid Leaders.
Article IV: Attendance top
Perseid does not have a formal
attendance policy. We realize that
our members have lives outside of the World of Warcraft
game.
We will try to form parties and raids from within our
own ranks, but if our needs cannot be fulfilled we may look to outside
sources.
Section A. Inactive Member Removal Clause:
Any Perseid member that has
been inactive beyond six months will be removed from the guild.
If said member decides to return to the game at a later
time and wants to be back in Perseid, that member
will have to re-apply for membership.
Notice of a leave of absence is required to be given to officers,
via guild website.
All notices must be given with an approximate return
date; members will remain in the guild until that time, in which the six
month period will then begin. Any
additional notice may be given to officers after the original return date
and during the six month period.
At the end of the six month period a council member will
attempt to contact the individual via e-mail, requesting their status prior
to removal.
Section B. Alt Removal Clause:
All alts will be removed from the guild on the 3rd month
of inactivity. Perseid
is not a toon parking lot. If you wish your alt to remain in the
guild you must play it on a regular basis.
Section C. Returning Members:
All returning members from a leave of absence (LoA) are re-instated with their previous rank. However this re-instatement does not
guarantee a raid spot.
Article V: Raiding top
Progression raiding is scheduled for 6 hours a week on
Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. These
raids are run by our guild Raid Leaders.
Off-night events are scheduled on the remaining days of the week,
and are scheduled by Officers/Raid Leaders or other guild members.
We expect every member to give 110% while in raids and
when preparing their characters for these raids. This includes obtaining the necessary
gear, asking for advice to maximize the output of your character, having all
consumables, being fully repaired and at the instance by the start time of
raid.
·
Please sign up with your primary character.
·
If you are not online at the start time of
raid, you will be replaced.
·
If you are on the waiting list be online; on
your raid toon and waiting at the instance
entrance. Notification will be given when the raid is full.
·
All raiding members must sign up on the
guild website calendar, either attending or not attending for progression
raid events.
We understand that not everybody can raid every night of
the week. It is up to the raid
leaders to decide if attendance is an issue and it will be dealt with on a
per case basis.
Section A. Required Programs to Raid in Perseid:
Perseid requires two things
that members MUST have in order to raid with us:
1.
Voice Chat Client: Currently we are using Ventrilo. Having
each member with this enables the Raid to move at a quicker pace and allows
for quicker reaction to the unexpected.
Even if you don't have a mic you still
will be able to listen in on the conversation and respond in chat.
2.
Threat-Meter: We require a threat meter to allow our
members a reliable way to track their threat. If you don't have this you will not be
raiding here.
Section B. 25-man Raids:
Perseid’s official 25-man progression
raid nights are on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Approvals for these runs are conducted
by the Raid Leaders. Please see the Perseid Raid Guide for additional information.
Section C. 10-man Raids:
Perseid runs 1 – 2, 10-man
raids during the week. These are
considered off-night runs.
·
All members will be marked as Approved
·
Wait list members will be left as unapproved
All approved raiders will be marked as such. See the Website Forums for team
specifics.
Section D. Main/Alt
Switching:
Perseid recognizes that many
of our members have several characters that are max level and they would
like to raid with them, but we feel that switching between main/alts will set
back our progression. Therefore,
members are only able to raid with their main toon
on official raid nights.
Members may sign up for raids on their alts but just be
advised that mains will have approval priority.
Article VI: Loot Rules top
Section A. Loot Distributions System 25-man Raids:
For 25-man raid encounters Perseid
uses a Suicide Kings system, henceforth referred to as SKG, as a way to
fairly distribute loot throughout the guild. We have one SKG list. New and returning members to the guild
will be automatically added to the bottom of the SKG list during their
first official guild raid they attend.
In addition, we institute a one armor class down limit for need
rolls. Epic loot dropping in guild
raids will first be available for raid roles as defined by your spec at the
time of the raid.(See Below for Definition)
Only if all members in the raid do not need the
item; will an epic item be given to a player for an off-spec role. Master Looter will always be enabled on
official raid nights and all loot distribution will be handled by an
Officer. We feel that this is an
even and fair system to use within the 25-man environment.
Definition Raid Role:
Raid role is the description of your job within the raid
environment.
·
Please
See Website Forum for additional details on how the SKG system works.
Section B. Loot Distributions System
10-man Raids:
For 10-man raid encounters Perseid
utilizes a Need before Greed loot system.
Since our 10-man raids are off-night runs, loot distribution is
handled by the individual that set up the event. Priority for loot is given to main specs
first, and then the looted item goes to off-spec. We will never use SKG in any 10-man raid
capacity.
Section C. BoE Items:
When a Bind on Equipped (BoE) item drops, any members
interested in the item must SKG bid for it.
If no one bids, the item goes to the guild bank.
BoE items are petitioned as follows:
Use the Request for Item link on the guild site
to petition for an item.
1.
Item is petitioned for by a member. They
receive the item and they immediately use their SKG spot when they receive
the item.
2.
Item is petitioned for by multiple members.
The individual with the highest SKG spot receives item and immediately uses
their SKG spot.
3.
Item is petitioned for an alt. They get it
for free just like it was a Bind on Pick Up (BoP).
If multiple members want the
item for an alt they will /roll for it. If there are multiple requests by
alts /rolls will be held on Tuesdays at 9:00 server time. Accommodations
can be made for individuals unable to be online at the designated time.
Article VII: Guild Bank top
The guild bank is a means for guild members to trade
items that they loot or craft (armor, weapons, profession materials). It allows all guild members to assist
others in getting the best loot possible for their characters. We encourage members to donate items to
keep the bank going. The items in
the bank have no cost. We ask if you
are taking an item out of the bank that you replace it with something of
equal value or current market price in gold. Once the items are sent to the
bank they become the property of the guild.
Items that have been in the bank beyond 2 weeks will be sold on the
Auction House or disenchanted. Any
monetary gains will be deposited into the guild bank account and be used to
finance guild activities, repairs, etc.
Article VIII: Guild Ranks top
Novus - This is our probationary rank for new
applicants and returning members. This
rank has a probationary period of 3 weeks. During this period Council
members will evaluate your play style and personality. Anytime during the probationary period
you may leave or be removed from the guild. Members with this rank cannot interact
with the guild bank.
Suscipio – This rank is for
guild member’s alts and inactive members.
Alts do not get promoted.
Alts may deposit items in the guild bank only.
Gnarus - This is our
non-raiding membership rank. Members who have this rank have passed the
probation period and are given guild bank privileges. This rank includes FnF. Phylax members
may deposit and withdraw 2 items/stacks per tab, per day.
Dedico - This is our raiding
membership rank. Members of this
rank make an effort to assist their guild mates whenever possible. They actively participate in the forum
discussions. They use the event
calendar function on the website, by signing up for posted events. They make an effort to form groups when
there are no raids scheduled.
Hoplites may withdraw 4 items/stacks per tab, per day.
Mereo - This rank is for Raid
Leaders within the guild. Raid
Leaders are members that have taken the time to learn all current raid
content. They effectively
communicate what the raid needs to do to be successful and adjust
strategies as needed. They are often
looked to for advice from other members about game play or character
improvement. They make all decisions
during the raid environment.
Can withdraw 4 items/stacks per tab, per day from the guild bank.
Dux - This is the alt rank of Council members.
Legatus - This is the Council
member rank. Members that hold this
rank are responsible for the administration of the guild. Duties in this role include, but are not
limited to: recruiting, conflict resolution, member motivation, brainstorming
fun activates for the guild, running the guild bank and working on website
content. Members who hold this rank
are the face of Perseid. They represent the
values that are outlined in the Guild Charter.
Eximius - This is the Guild
Member of the Month rank.
Article IX: Guild Elections top
Perseid is a democratic guild
meaning that there is no Guild Master and that it is governed by a Council
of five. The Tribunus
rank within Perseid has a one year term with
bi-annual elections, two Council seats in November and three Council seats
in May based on election date.
The process is as
follows:
At each election period either two or three of the
Council seats are up for election and members have the opportunity to run
for a seat. We will open up threads on the forums for each seat available
and incumbent (if applicable).
Members have one week to decide if they want to run and if so they
will post to the desired thread indicating as such. Any motions to run after the deadline are
invalid. Campaigning will last for
one week, where in those threads candidates can post why they should be
elected or re-elected and members can ask questions of the candidates. At
the end of the week a poll will be added to each thread for 24 hours for
member voting.
There is a 2 year consecutive term limit max. If a Council member has fulfilled their 2
year term, then they must vacate their position and it's open for
election. There is a 6 month period
(1 election cycle) before that person can run again.
Article X: Discipline top
Discipline within Perseid is
based on a combination of rank and a three-strike policy.
First Offense
- Written warning and 60 days probation. If we feel that a member has done something
that is not very becoming of a guild member or would tarnish our image you
will be informed by an Officer of the offense and be on probation for 60
days.
Second Offense
- If it happens while on 60 day discipline probation, automatic demotion to
the rank of Doulos. If it happens after 60 day
probation a demotion of one rank will occur. If a member has committed
another offense said member will automatically be demoted to the rank of Doulos. Everything that goes along with being a Doulos will apply and the member will have to start
over in the rank progression.
Third Offense
- Removal from the guild. If any member has committed three offenses they
will be removed from the guild.
Article XI:
Amendments top
The cornerstone of Perseid,
beyond its members, is its charter.
This document guides how the guild is run, but the guild changes; so
below is our defined process to deal with changes when they occur.
Changes to the guild charter can come from either the
Council or its membership and will fall into two categories:
Minor Changes: Wording to cover things we already
do. There are a number of standard
practices that the guild follows that are not spelled out in the charter,
but should be. As we find those
items the Council will vote on them.
If a simple majority is reached the council will post upcoming
changes to the guild as notification.
Major Changes: These will be changes that are
substantive in nature and come from guild discussion on the forums. These items will first be discussed by
the Council. If the Council
determines by a simple majority vote that a change should be made, then new
wording will be approved by the Council.
That wording will be posted to the guild for a period of 5
days. During that time the guild has
opportunity to see the changes, discuss them and submit suggestions for
change. After that time the officers
will vote again on any changes to wording they feel might be
necessary. Then the final wording
will be posted to the guild as a poll for vote. The poll shall remain open for a period
of 1 week to give all guild members the opportunity to vote. If the poll comes out in favor by a 2/3
majority OF THOSE WHO VOTE, then the exact wording will be
immediately added to the charter. If
the poll does not come out in favor by 2/3 the charter is not amended.
If as a member of Perseid, you
have a change that would fall into either category you can private message
an officer on the forums or make a general member post for the guild to
consider.
